Alicia's Story
As a psychologist, Alicia has over 24 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Her extensive career has included providing mental health support services in a range of settings such as residential facilities for children recovering from drug and alcohol issues, domestic violence, and practical parenting. Alicia has also worked in non-Government and Government Area Health Agencies, private practice, and educational settings providing individual therapy, couples counselling, and family therapy for various presentations.
Currently, Alicia is the Head of Student well-being at the UWS School of Medicine, where she assists high-performance students dealing with burnout, adjustment, and mental health issues. She has also holds several other positions, including PBL Tutor Year 1 Bachelor of Medicine, School Counsellor & Clinical Supervisor for the Student and Family Program at Mary Immaculate Primary Catholic School, and Clinical Director & Founder of Complete Therapy Australia Pty Ltd. Additionally, she works as a Grief Psychologist for the Liverpool Community Counselling Team, SWS Area Health Service, Liverpool, and as a Child and Family Therapist/Registered Psychologist for Unifam, Counselling & Mediation.
Alicia's expertise extends to training and writing curricula for working with "Difference and Diversity" as well as couples therapy in Sydney. She also has experience as a Duty Co-Ordinator, Supervisor, and Co-Ordinator for the Central West Contact Service & South West Access Place at Macquarie Legal Resource Centre, Harris Park & Macarthur Legal Resource Centre, Campbelltown. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Live-In Worker & Locum Social Welfare Worker at Butler Lodge, Women and Children’s Domestic Violence Shelter Refuge, St Vincent’s De Paul, Burwood, and as a Live-In Residential Support Worker at Ashfield Infants' Home, Women's Uni, Ashfield. Additionally, she has volunteered as a Telephone Counsellor for The Child Abuse Prevention Service.
